Job 1:22

"Through all this [pain and suffering] Job did not sin nor did he blame God." (emphasis mine)

Job was a man's man! Here is this man who had wealth, a beautiful wife, beautiful kids, land, workers, and God's favor. Any man would be lucky to have one or two of those attributes, specifically God's favor but still just some.

Well one day God was having a conversation with the Devil, and the Devil pleaded that let me take everything away from your faithful servant Job. And God knowing the outcome of it all, allowed Satan to take everything away from Job. So Job's family and his estates were taken from him in a day. Job was so upset that he tore his garments and begin to weep.

Job was extremely distraught and angry but notice that he does not take it out on God. Because Job knew that God wasn't to blame for his suffering. Sure what the Lord gives the Lord takes.

But that is not what my message is about today. My message is about how Job stood up in a world of pain and suffering and he did not sin, nor did he blame God.

When terrible things happen such as, school shootings, kidnapping, and other horrible crimes; it is not God who should be blamed. For God is Holy and is not capable of doing such acts. When we look into Theology we see that God is all Righteous and Holy. What does that mean? It means that God's very being and nature are pure and without sin. God physically cannot commit a horrendous act because that would be to deny his Holiness. That would be like trying to tell a dog to change himself into a cat. It just can't be done.

God does not commit the act, Satan does! When we look at Job we see that it was Satan who took everything away from Job. And we also see that God says that you will not lay a finger on my faithful servants head. Job was faithful to God and because of this God took favor on him.
Job was rewarded for his faithfulness. It is said that Job's new estate was comparable to any King.

How does my random thought process apply to you today. When you read the paper and see all the horrible things happening in the world, realize that it is not God who is doing it. It is man's sin that is committing the crime. If you are of this world then you will be caught up in the misery of this world. But if you decided that your place is with Christ in Heaven, then you can stand firm during trials and tribulation. You can be like Job who did not sin nor did he blame God.

Thanks for reading and God Bless!

  1. Hey. I saw you post your blog on facebook, so I had to check it out. I LOVE IT! Your writing (or as you call it, thinking out loud) is really wise. I am impressed. This post really got to my heart. I have had some things going on for quite a while now that that have really distanced me from God. I wouldn't go as far to say that I down right blame Him for everything (though I probably do at times), but I am not really talking to Him anymore either. I didn't blame Satan on this either. I guess I thought that 1. I would never let Satan interfere with my life, so how would he get in? 2. God wouldn't let him in anyway. and 3. Satan never wins. Now I realize that it is possible that Satan can "win", it is if we let him in. I must have let him into my life without realizing it. I realize that now. Thank you so much. I have been waiting to hear something, anything from God, but He has been so silent to me. I think reading this is what I have been waiting for. God is really speaking through you. Keep listening please!
